John McGowan is a partner at Lane & McGowan, LLP. Mr. McGowan has a Bachelor of Arts degree (2001) from California State University, Long Beach. He obtained his Juris Doctorate degree (2004) from UCLA School of Law.
Mr. McGowan was admitted to the California State Bar in 2004. He is also a member (inactive) of the Arizona State Bar and the Idaho State Bar. Mr. McGowan began his legal career at Monteleone & McCrory, LLP before establishing Lane & McGowan, LLP.
Mr. McGowan has represented individuals and companies in public and private construction disputes throughout his career. He represents public works and private works contractors, subcontractors, private owners, developers and designers related to the construction of infrastructure improvements, pipelines, schools, bridges, commercial buildings, and residential property.
Mr. McGowan has litigated cases involving breach of contract, mechanic’s liens, payment/performance bonds, construction delays, differing site conditions, alter ego allegations, and economic interference. His experience includes state and federal court lawsuits as well as arbitration. Mr. McGowan has experience in every aspect of litigation including jury trial and argument before the court of appeal.
Mr. McGowan is married with two children and serves as the Vice President of CHEA, a non-profit which protects homeschooling rights in California and is an active member of Calvary Chapel of Chino Hills.
